About the Author | Founder

Rachel Worden is the founder of Little Dandelion Press, a children's book publishing imprint rooted in accessibility, inclusion, and joyful literacy for all learners.
At the heart of LDP’s mission is a commitment to children with Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), low vision, developmental delays, and sensory needs—while creating books that are inclusive and enriching for all children.

Rachel’s path to publishing began with her daughter, Moira, who was diagnosed with CVI and a rare genetic condition as a baby. When Rachel realized that most children’s books weren’t made with Moira in mind, she began creating her own—starting with a single CVI-friendly coloring book. That one book sparked a movement, and eventually, an imprint—offering joyful, high-contrast, developmentally supportive resources for children who are so often left out of the story.

Her work is grounded in real-life experience and fueled by love and curiosity. Through high-contrast visuals, simple layouts, and rhythmic text, Rachel’s books are intentionally created to meet children where they are—supporting development, sensory processing, and access to the magic of story.

Outside of her work as a writer, designer, and advocate, Rachel loves painting, spending slow Saturdays with her family, and making Moira giggle with silly songs and spontaneous dance parties.
